Description
Sealine Senator 240 - a beautiful boat in good condition, original interiors throughout and the famous liveable Sealine space. The build quality speaks for itself with the boat still drawing the eye when out on the water or moored up. The 240 is a fantastic starter boat and it’s equally ideal for a more experienced boater who wants a highl;y usable, eye-catching, and beautiful boat. The boat is in good condition although it has all of the original fabrics and some of these could be renewed if desired. The engine turns over although she requires new exhaust valves to get going again. I am now primary carer for a recently disabled family member and I am unable to use her or give her the time she needs hence the sale. The work required is reflected in the price, open to a reasonable offer. Lying London non-tidal Thames. Lots more photos available!
A really lovely boat that has been well cared for and we have intentionally kept all of the original interiors including the upholstery above and below, above deck that's PVC and below that's fabric and carpeting. For Sealine fans, you'll know that quality is a hallmark of this particular boat with the layout being particularly user-friendly and the finish all being high spec. Comparator boats are generally bare plastic on the decks and any seating is pic (above and below).
The ONLY reason we're selling as-is is due to a recent & serious medical diagnosis in family which means she is no longer a priority. I’m primary carer for my parents, and now having to pay for house adjustments so don’t currently have capacity to deal with mechanics etc. Priced to reflect/recognise work is required.
I’ve owned the boat since 2007 and have been very careful with her - only ever used on inland waters. It is a very liveable boat - we’ve taken her down to Oxford and back every year since 2020 for at least a week. The boat is lying in a very professionally-run marina, and the boat is checked twice a day by the dock master and is well looked after generally.
The boat has always been heated during the winter - including engine block - to keep her in tip top condition. Annually serviced too.
She has a 4.1 Volvo Penta petrol engine, currently not working as the engine valves need replacing (approx £2.5k according to the yard) - this is reflected in the price. I’ve had a stack of work done in recent years - some of which is listed below.
Original gel coat with only minor/cosmetic repairs which could be done by you or professionally.
The boat has a fabulous sundeck which seats 4-6 comfortably, the pilot seat folds to create an additional seating area. The deck table can be lowered to form a double-bed sized sunlounger/sun pad. The deck upholstery is all original (including the wheel!). Deck canopy was replaced by Jeckells in 2018 and professionally cleaned, repaired and renewed last year, it needs a good clean due to nearby trees but is pretty water tight. Some of the plastic windows need replacing now. The deck is lined with a shaped, dark green all weather 'carpet' so the hard deck is in lovely condition too.
The boat has a heads with working shower/sink and hand pump toilet. It has an automatic drain which operates when the shower is in use. Again, the interior of the heads is all original including the waterproof wall paper! The mirrors are also original and show some degradation as a result.
The main cabin sleeps four with a double berth under the rear deck and the dining table dropping to form a V berth. There are two USB chargers so phones/iPads can be charged and the main circuit works on shore power with two electric 3 pin plugs in the cabin.
We’ve retained all of the original interior upholstery on beds, banquettes and carpet (we’ve kept it intentionally) and it could be replaced if you wished. It has some staining from an old leak (the cabin roof light went one winter during a storm) and we've carefully cleaned it with de-ionised water and special cleaner. It has been professionally cleaned numerous times over the years too. The carpet is the original light green, we've kept that professionally cleaned too and we use a specially fit rug on the main deck floor and shaped felt on the steps and main areas.
The dining table drops down to form a double bee berth - it's very comfortable. The original cushion was missing and we had a replacement foam insert made by GB foam which made it very usable. We've just binned it as it needed replacing but it cost around £50 originally. If you were re-upholstering, you could have a matching one made at the same time for little additional cost. The table edges need renewing due to a bit of damp and the aging varnish - all light cosmetic work and very easily done yourself.
There is a well equipped galley with 2 gas burners, a grill, and fully electric fridge. Small sink and running water including hot water from a small calorifier. Washing up or showering are both easily doable after the engine has been running/water has warmed. The tank stays warm overnight too, so morning washes/washing up is easy enough. On non-tidal Thames there are lots of marinas/moorings all with good shower facilities etc if you kept her there.
Interior spot lighting all works. Lots of storage including a hanging wardrobe and under banquette seating. There are some damp patches on the wood work in the galley and the dining table - all cosmetic and easily fixed - pics included under 'equipment'.
We genuinely love this boat, we wouldn't be selling except for family circumstances so hope she goes to a good home. The famed Sealine quality is everywhere in the design, layout, and finish of this boat and is eminently usable as a day cruiser, weekender, or even a week-long trip.
COLLECTION ONLY as not currently working.
Lying on non-tidal Thames in professionally run marina with lifting available. If you wish to visually inspect and/or inspect ashore, this is possible at your own cost for tow, lift, relaunch. Any inspection costs are also yours to bear.

Incredibly sad to sell but needs must. Priced to reflect any work and need to sell, so please no silly offers.
