Description:
The Tammie Norrie is basically a traditional workboat of medium size; a type which happens to make a particularly useful and attractive recreational boat.
This is one of the most popular of our Oughtred designs both in the UK and also cut by our agents in the USA, Australia and the Netherlands. She has a good rowing performance, with one or two pairs of oars. A stable boat for her size, she normally carries 2, 3 or 4 people, but could take 5 in flat calm. Under sail, four is about a comfortable maximum. While not dramatically fast under sail or oars, the boat does perform very well for a comfortable, stable, load-carrying hull. Three optional sailing rigs were given on the plans. The standard version is 13’ 6”, and there is also a popular stretched version at 15’ which gives a bit more space for passengers and more room for two rowers to speed the boat when the wind doesn’t blow.
